Interview Date Rescheduled because the translation of a document is missing even though the instructions sent on Packet 3 and 4 states that no translation is needed if the document is in English or the original language of the beneficiary's country. Visa Issued. My experience with the embassy was pretty different than all what it's said on VJMember's Review. I come at 11 am on April 03, I've submitted the translation, the police certificate, and the birth certificate. and I was asked to wait. After they finished processing all the nonimmigrant visa, the Consular officer (a woman in her 30/40)asked for me. She told me to make an oath and then sign the forms that I have submitted. I was very happy, and I thought she's going to tell me to come back tomorrow to pick up the visa. but I was surprised when she told me that she's going to interview me, and she wants me to talk only in English (despite the fact she's talking french with the nonimmigrant visa applicant). She wanted a free talk mean I speak and she writes down what I said. Seeing that I was lost she started to ask me questions to direct the discussion. The questions could be divided into three subjects: 1- Question about your self: Who are you? What does your father do? How many siblings? What does ur sibling do? What's your actual job? 2-Question about you and your fiancee: How did you meet? In which web site? What did her Ad say? How did your parent say about you getting married to a US Citizen? 3-Question about your fiancee's trip to Tunisia: Where did she stay? For how long? Why she left early? All the question was previously prepared, I think they are using a template because the consular officer was typing my answers. Two Tricky questions where asked : - The one I didn't like: Is your fiancee going to Convert from Christianity to Islam? (I think that question goes beyond the first amendment of the US constitution, it's not the Business of the state department to ask about someone's believes) - The second question (which I think it was maybe a reason for a visa denial): Which job you will have when you will be in the USA? I answered "I have no idea!" with a big !. I think by that question they are seeking if I was getting married to have a job in the US. After all that embarrassing questions and a lot of stress and anxiety, she left the desk and I thought she's bringing my passport to tell me "Sorry No visa", but she came back with my passport stapled a yellow paper on it and told me "Mabrouk, come back tomorrow to get your visa" I was very happy at that time. the next day, I come back at 1 pm, and they gave me the visa and a brown envelope which I was asked to present at the port of entry. The questions were very harsh, the consular officer was very nice and understanding, she let me have time to take a breath and answer her question. About the I-134, they didn't ask about it. it was not mentioned in their checklist, nor the consular officer asked for it at the interview or at the visa issuance. It's very strange since I-134 was the base of the K1 petition? I'm going to bring the I-134 forms with me to the US, in case they are required by the immigration, I can show them that it has with a notarized signature before the interview and that I have done everything as they asked, and it was the embassy 's fault for not requiring them at the time of the interview. Next Step, getting into the USA through Houston IAH as POE. | 2020-05-20 | ||||
